Apparently the system will also allow access to the iPhone 4S virtual assistant Siri, so the user can select music, schedule that meeting, check on the weather and shoot off messages.

The iPhone integration is available via entry level “Audio 20” configuration, and apparently the Digital DriveStyle application will be available as a free app and features Facebook, Twitter, AUPEO! Radio, a car finder and Garmin navigation.

The update is rolling our to the A-class Merc right now, but word is Mercedes have also stated that B-, C-, and E-class cars will also be able to play along with the iPhone sometime in the fall.

The user interface features a unique design with transparent symbols illuminated in red as to create “three dimensionally arranged navigation levels,” and the UI was designed by Mercedes Benz designers and engineers in the Mercedes Benz R&D centre in Palo Alto California.
