Android 5.0 Jelly Bean Asus possible updates confirmed

I’m sure the Android faithful are aware that the next Google guy’s operating system is Android 4.0, which is currently being referred to as Android Jelly Bean, but who will be the first to offer devices sporting the Jelly Bean operating system? Well apparently word is Asus stands a very good chance of being the first to deliver an Android 5.0 Jelly Bean device.

According to the guys over at Tech Radar, Asus hopes that due to their close relationship with Google, they will be the first to offer Android Jelly Bean devices considering the company’s efficient Android upgrading past.

Asus was the first to offer Android 3.2 Honeycomb based tablets and the first to offer a tablet update to the current Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, so naturally they hope this will hold them in good stead when it comes to Android Jelly Bean.

Apparently the corporate vice president of Asus, Benson Lin spoke to Tech Rader and said that the company is very close to Google, and once they have Android 5.0 he thinks that here is a high probability that Asus will be the first wave to offer an update to Android Jelly Bean.

Back at Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Asus announced their Android ice Cream Sandwich Asus Padfone handset that combines smartphone, slate and netbook into a single device, and the firm hopes the Padfone will gain traction in the market and if they can produce quality gear along with a promise of fast updates to Android Jelly Bean in future, hopefully more customers will flock to Asus.

So there you go, Asus ‘hopes’ to be the first company to offer an update to Jelly Bean once the new operating system becomes available of course.
