Galaxy S3 design finalised, pre-orders hit record high

The next big smartphone to hit the Android mobile space is the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S3, and the latest work on the Galaxy S3 smartphone is that Samsung has now finalised the design of the Android handset for production ready for the launch of the device in the first half of this year.

According to the guys over at Slash Gear, the news of the finalising of the Galaxy S3 design comes via way of Eldar Murtazin who used his Twitter account to deliver the news along with word that pre-orders from retailers and operators are the highest in the history of the Galaxy line.

Apparently the tipster says that the new Android handsets will sport a ceramic housing rather than a plastic one, which he describes as more like a Rado watch than anything else, a company that is know for their ceramic designs.

Of course the new ceramic casing is just one of the advancements old Sammy has made with the Samsung Galaxy S3, as the device will comes with a 4.8-inch HD display, HSPA+ connectivity, NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video and all wrapped up in just a 7mm thick housing, although of course those specs haven’t been confirmed.

Hopefully we’ll learn more about what the Galaxy S3 offers the Android user for real in the coming months as long as old Sammy doesn’t shift the launch goal posts of course.

Is the Samsung Galaxy S3 your favoured Android smartphone for 2012?

Just because they can make flexible O-LED displays doesn’t mean that the components which drive it (processor, ram, etc.) are also flexible. This is likely a ways away yet.
