I communicate with family and friends via!

In the ever changing world of mobile technology there are many ways in which a user can communicate with family and friends, whether via smartphone, tablet or other, there are a great deal of ways one can stay in touch with family and friends when away, at work, when travelling on a bus or in a cab, or on a train, and the like.

In the mobile space there is an abundance of communication ways other than a voice calls, with numerous communication applications available on most platforms. Smartphone and tablet apps such as BlackBerry Messenger, Instant messengers, Skype, Yahoo! Messenger, and the cross platform WhatsApp. Of course there is email with Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, to name just a few.

Then there is of course social networking to keep in contact with friends and family such as Google+, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Loopt and many, many more and all from your mobile device so you can stay in touch.

Then there is of course the video call, with such apps as FaceTime for iOS, Tango video calls, Qik video chat, Fring, ChatOn, and of course the biggest of them all Skype.

Personally, when I am out and about I usually use the WhatsApp app for Android on my Samsung Galaxy S, as many of my friends and family also use the multi-platform app that allows you to send free messages, images, videos and the like, although I do still use email, texts, social networks and such.

So we thought we’d like to ask our readership out there this question, what is your preferred way of keeping in contact with your family and friends when you are out and about, do you have a preferred app that you simply can’t do without, a must have social networking app, messenger, chat or email client? If so, we are interested to find out what you use, so feel free to let us know by dropping us a line to our comments area below.
