Galaxy S3 screen to be sensational
The release of the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been generating a lot of interest in recent weeks, and as we get closer to the anniversary of the launch of last year’s model the Galaxy S2 there are more alleged leaks emerging. Today there are more claims that the Galaxy S3 screen will be sensational once it is available.
It shouldn’t be much longer before we get to hear something official about the handset from Samsung, but now a Korean website has made new clams about what the device will bring with it, and according to Electric Pig the screen will be pretty impressive.
There have been a number of rumours about the screen before and these latest claims include a massive 4.65-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with 1280 x 720 resolution. We have heard these claims before but this time round it is being suggested that the handset will not feature a Pentile display.
These types of displays use fewer sub-pixels than normal, which with the Galaxy Nexus means that the screen is technically a 720p HD display. This when compared to displays such as that found on the HTC One X content won’t appear as sharp.
If the Galaxy S3 does have the type of screen mentioned it will again set the benchmark in smartphone screens away from the iPhone, and while the HTC One X screen is great it still has the LCD issue of blacks not being deep enough.
Having a powerful processor and great looking screen are normally high on smartphone buyers wish lists, but as long as battery life is not compromised in the process. The Galaxy S III is probably going to be a huge success and recent reports have suggested retailers have already placed huge pre-orders for the device.
