Asus PadFone goes up for pre-order release soon

The Asus PadFone was first shown to the world almost a year ago now, and the device has left some wondering if the device will be the final nail in the note book’s coffin. Now today we have news of the Asus PadFone going up for pre-order with a release soon along with a price for the device.

This clever idea basically means you can turn your smartphone into an all singing and dancing tablet PC by just inserting it into the back of a full sized screen, and as SlashGear are reporting the device has gone up for pre-order in Taiwan along with a release date and pricing.

In the country the Asus PadFone will sell for NT$17,990 that works out to about £385, this is the price for the smartphone only without the stylus or tablet section, which is really pointless only purchasing that part. The tablet and stylus bundle is priced at NT$24,980, which works out to around £534, but if you want to purchase everything altogether including the detachable keyboard this is priced at NT$28,901 or around £618.

The device may have a strange name but the PadFone is no slouch and will feature the dual core Snapdragon S4 processor and will come running Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The company is offering those that pre-order the PadFone an extra battery to tempt consumers even more, and the device is up for pre-order from tomorrow with a release date in the country of April 20th.

Unfortunately the company has yet to reveal any information regarding availability elsewhere in the world, and hopefully the UK pricing won’t translate exactly with regards to exchange rates, or this will mean expensive keyboards for the device but owners of the original Asus Transformer tablet should be able to use their existing keyboards.
