Unique eMusic for Android is music to ears

If you’re a music fan and particularly online music then you may already have heard of eMusic. It may well be music to your ears then to hear that today eMusic has launched an Android app that will bring users an advanced player, music recommendations, playlist mixes and much more as part of a monthly subscription.

The eMusic Android app was created in conjunction with the team at We Are Hunted, a music discovery app. As part of the eMusic membership experience it provides an easy-to-use music player with personalization offering a unique way of listening, collecting and discovering music with editorial features and reviews too. The app is now available to the U.S. with plans for it to come to the EU and Canada and there are also plans for an iOS eMusic app.

The Android app, simply called eMusic, is available at this Google Play link and it’s a free app. It’s a beta version optimized for devices running Android 2.3.3 or later with 1GHz and 576MB of RAM. Key features for eMusic members in the US include the ability to download music, access accounts from within the app and listen to eMusic Radio, dozens of curated radio programs.

Other features available for users of the app include being able to listen to MP3 files from a phone through the music player and receiving song recommendations based on what is usually listened to. Users can also create playlists, read about artists as they listen, access eMusic charts, see a daily feed of new eMusic releases and listen to sample tracks by searching the eMusic catalog.

To learn more about what eMusic has to say about the app head to the full press release available here. The app was only launched today but seems to have impressed users to far with a 4.4 rating to date. If you’re about to download the app then we’d appreciate your thoughts on it and whether you’d recommend it to other readers? Is this a welcome addition for the music enthusiast?

Android has the worst music playing apps. I’ve tried em all, poweramp, stock apps, Google’s player. They all suck compared to what iPhone’s offer.  This emusic app is the first major contender I’ve seen for definitive Android music player. The mix feature is awesome.
