New iPad vs Transformer Pad TF300: The Winner

The latest Android tablet offering to be launched by Asus is the Asus Transformer Pad TF300, a 10.1 inch slate packing the latest Android operating system, Android 4.0; however as usual when a new device hits the mobile space it eventually gets compared to the top device, which is of course the new iPad.

And this has now happened in a spec-by-spec comparison between the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 and the new iPad, a spec comparison that comes our way courtesy of the guys over at PC Mag.

Thus far, Apple has a fairly substantial lead when it comes to the tablet space, and Sascha Segan, the senior mobile analyst for PC Mag, recently said of the new iPad that he doesn’t think the mobile space will see a better large tablet than the new iPad this year, and it’s not about the hardware but more about the ‘iPad app juggernaut.’

Now obviously not everyone in the mobile space is a fan of Apple gear, and Android does have a large following, fans that prefer Android’s open operating system rather than Apple’s closed one, and probably their view is there are plenty of Android tablet out there that are better than the new iOS slate.

So how does the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 stack up against the new iPad other than when you compare the 16GB versions the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 comes in at 120-bucks less than what it costs for the 16GB new iPad, although one does have to consider that the Android Ice Cream Sandwich Transformer Pad TF300 is WiFi only, doesn’t have 4G and a lower resolution.

Well to check out that spec-by-spce comparison between the Transformer Pad TF300 and the new iPad take a look at the image below, and then let us know which tablet you think is the winner judging on the spec-by-spec sheet and by dropping us a line to our comments area below.

Apart from the high res screen on the iPad….it’s got nothing else going for it….the app market is crap and android is really rising to the challenge!!! Keep up the good work ASUS!!!

Asus wins hands down, but the applications are needing attention. I would prefer app problems that can be fixed. Knowing i have a faster unit now. Than get the ipad and be limited with hdd and pay for everything. What improvement can be done on ipad. Put into a dock to charge or a case with bt keyboard. Lame options available for ipad.
