Samsung Galaxy S3 4.8-inch display and no buttons

Later this week we will finally get to see the latest smartphone to come from Samsung via a special event in London, but before then we continue to see rumours and alleged leaked images of the upcoming handset, and now there are claims that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will feature a 4.8-inch display with no physical buttons.

Such is the interest in the upcoming Galaxy S III now we are seeing a media frenzy that was previously only seen with the next version of Apple’s iPhone, and now an anonymous source has sent an image to Know Your Mobile that is reportedly of the Galaxy S3.

This latest image reveals a couple of new tasty titbits that if true will mean the next version of the Galaxy S smartphone will be larger than its predecessor, as the image that can be seen below has the device up against a ruler and it measures over 130mm. The image also shows there are no face buttons on the device meaning if true the Galaxy S3 will only have virtual command buttons, and will do away with the elusive home button.

The use of a home button on the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been reported before now, so we are hearing conflicting reports, and also looking at the scale of the image it seemingly means the new device will feature a screen size of around 4.7 to 4.8-inches.

Studying the image the device looks pretty similar to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus that is also bigger at 136mm long, and also has no physical buttons on the fascia along with a 4.7-inch screen size. Apart from the company logo on the top of the device it looks almost identical to the Galaxy Nexus, and makes you wonder if the image is a fake.

We only have a few days to go now before we will see officially what Samsung has instore for its flagship smartphone, and then we have the process of the handset reaching retail outlets but more importantly consumer’s hands.

Do you think this image is the real deal?
