iBall Slide i7218 Android Gingerbread tablet for India

If you are in India and would like a new tablet device then we have news of one today for you. The iBall Slide i7218 is a budget Android tablet with a 7-inch display, similar in looks to the Dell Streak 7 tablet.

Specs are decent enough for a lower-end tablet but one disappointment may be that it runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS rather than the latest mobile Android OS, 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Considering cheaper tablets such as the Ainol Paladin 7 and the Micromax Funbook use Android 4.0 iCS this could be a sticking point for some buyers.

Other features and specs of the iBall Slide i7218 are the 7-inch capacitive display with resolution of 800 x 480, ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor, 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera and 8GB of internal storage (expandable to 32GB with microSD). It’s also WiFi and Bluetooth enabled and a USB dongle can be used to access 3G networks plus it features an HDMI-out port and is one of only tablets available in India to have a direct USB port. Pre-loaded apps include Money Control, Facebook, Skype and more.

Dimensions are 120 x 120 and it weighs only 450 grams. This is an improved tablet to the previous iBall tablet released in September last year and the price of the new iBall Slide is INR 11,999, which seems realistic for this device. Will you purchase the iBall Slide i7218 and if so what was your deciding factor to choose this tablet?
