AT&T Android 4.0 ICS update spotted on Galaxy Note via video

We have recently seen the situation with the Samsung Galaxy S2 and its slow painful process regarding the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update, which is still to hit handsets in the US, and now we have news of the AT&T Android 4.0 ICS update spotted on the Galaxy Note via a video.

While it’s still not known when the new operating system will be hitting the Galaxy Note a video with the software running on the device has appeared via a special AT&T event in the US, and as Electric Pig are reporting the software is not your stock Android experience. The video that can be seen below shows the handset running version 4.0.3 of Android ICS, and it has been treated to Samsungs TouchWiz Android overlay.

Besides the information revealing that the operating system on the handset is Ice Cream Sandwich, there are a number of other signs as well that includes the ‘Settings’ option being placed onto a drop down notification tray. Unfortunately with all Android updates the release date for them will depend on the individual carriers, and it seems the AT&T version of the software is almost ready to roll out.

Currently there is no word when UK carriers will be releasing the software upgrade, and originally Samsung had suggested before April before changing this to a second quarter timeframe. The Samsung Galaxy Note is now over a year old but there is no reason why the handset won’t handle the new software comfortably.

This news may mean that AT&T will begin rolling out the Android ICS update for the Galaxy Note before it treats the Galaxy S II to the new operating system, unless the carrier surprises everyone and launches it for both handsets at the same time, and hopefully the update is not that long away now.

Are you looking forward to receive Android ICS on your Galaxy Note?
