Both of these phones have been officially announced by Sony today and they are both LTE-equipped with download speeds of up to 75mbps, with 1.5GHz dual-core processors. They also feature the Reality Display powered by the BRAVIA engine and both have the Sony Exmor R Sensor. Three new media applications were also announced for these smartphones. The first is the ‘WALKMAN’ application for high quality audio with clear stereo, clear bass, VPT surround sound, manual equalizer and xLOUD.

Secondly there’s the ‘Album’ application for sorting and browsing high quality pictures and videos with speed and also instant viewing. This app offers intuitive new ways to make the most of the excellent camera capabilities of these two smartphones. There’s also a ‘Movies’ application streamlining the playback and viewing of movies and video and featuring a search facility with an intelligent database for more info on the movie you’re watching.

As well as the specs and features above some more highlights of the Sony Xperia GX are 4.6-inch Reality Display, 16GB of internal flash storage, a 13-megapixel camera capable of HD video capture and also 3D panoramic images, all running on Android 4.0 ICS, the latest Android operating system. The Xperia GX will be available in black or white color options.

On to the Sony Xperia SX, touted as the world’s lightest smartphone at only 95g. This has a 3.7-inch Reality Display, 8GB of internal flash storage, 8-megapixel camera with HD video and 3D panoramic image capability, and all running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
