Schedule car repairs with app builder ClearMechanic

If you are a car owner you will know how frustrating it can be if the vehicle encounters a fault or needs to be booked in for its annual service, and being able to get this done to fit around our busy lives. Now a new application looks to help users schedule car repairs with app builder ClearMechanic.

ClearMechanic is a California based developer of mobile applications for car dealers and repair garages, and according to Inside Line they are developing a pilot service that would allow users to book repair and service appointments online. The company is describing the idea as an Open Table for car repairs.

OpenTable allows users to book online restaurant reservations from their mobile device, and ClearMechanic is looking to reduce the time and effort that is required to book car repairs via email or phone. In a statement the company said that “by giving customers the ability to schedule instantly online, we can cut that time by more than half”.

The pilot online program is due to be launched this summer by ClearMechanic in and around the San Francisco Bay Area, and it said the service will allow users to find appointment availability at a variety of dealerships and repair shops. They will then be to instantly book their vehicle in with the dealership or repair shop of their choice.

There is already a ClearMechanic application available for Android and iOS users that is a free download, and basically allows users to upload images of their cars so dealers and repair shops can visually explain repair recommendations via real-time vehicle photos and expert illustrations. To find out more and to download head over to the App Store or for Android users Google Play and for more information on the pilot service click here.
