Redsn0w iOS 5.1.1 downgrade & iPhone 4S Jailbreak Release

When it comes to the jailbreak world this is massive news, and today we would like to hit upon two new updates, the first mentioning Redsn0w iOS 5.1.1 downgrade and the second hitting on the iPhone 4S Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 Release.

First up is the latest on Redsn0w allowing jailbreakers to use this on the iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the New iPad to downgrade from iOS 5.1.1. The Dev Team have been very busy bees, and one particular developer named MuscleNerd has the methods to downgrade Apple devices to the previous iOS. The recent and latest Redsn0w 0.9.11b1 update does indeed support downgrading from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 5.1 and iOS 5.0.1.

This is very interesting because this Redsn0w update allows users who own the New iPad aka iPad 3 and the iPhone 4S to downgrade. Obviously this comes with a few issues, such as not being able to downgrade without such personalized SHSH blobs for your device at that lower firmware. According to ITProPortal fetching such “blobs while the signing window was open, using either Cydia’s built-in TSS@Home feature, or with TinyUmbrella.”

If you are a jailbreaker you should know that the A5 downgrade method at first will update to the latest firmware, it is then it will perform the downgrade. Maybe we need to keep an eye on pod2g with his iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak.

Gotta Be Mobile are reporting that the iPhone 4S Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 will release May 25th, apparently hackers are now in the middle of testing the iPhone 4S Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 and iOS 5.1.1, and they are working on a new tool just like Absinthe, which means the average Joe Blogg who owns and iPhone 4S will be able to jailbreak it.

Pod2g believes the update will come in a few weeks, if the 25th is the date then that is only next week. The Hack in the Box conference kicks off on May 24th and 25th in Taiwan and pod2g will have something to say on the 25th about the iPhone 4S jailbreak process for Corona and Absinthe Jailbreak tools.

Please read our previous article covering the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak complete device list, and if you have anything to say about the above we would love for you to comment below.

  1. iOSh4x says:

Everytime the Software is jailbroken, Apple fix the hole that they created with a new update, which then means that people like @pod2g must find another exploit or door to get into it. Bear in mind, with every release apple make, it could close one door but open another.
