Pre-order 10.1 Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 from MobiCity

It’s been a while since Samsung first dipped its toes into the tablet market with the original seven inch Galaxy Tab, which was then followed by other devices that led the company into trouble with Apple and accusations of patent infringements that are still ongoing. The company is about to release the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and today we have news of some pre-orders via MobiCity.

Earlier this month we told you about the device going up for pre-order at the Office Depot, and today we have news of Australia’s MobiCity also putting the tablet PC up for pre-order. Many Android fans were left disappointed when the specifications of the new tablet were revealed as it wasn’t much of an upgrade from the older model.

For your money you get a 10.1-inch PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, which is protected by Gorilla Glass. This is powered by a 1.0GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor running the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, which will be alongside Samsung’s TouchWiz Android overlay. There is also 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage that can be expanded by an extra 32GB via the microSD card slot.

It has a 3.15 megapixel camera on the rear with a VGA shooter around the front, as well as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, TV out, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a PowerVr SGX540 GPU for graphics. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 16GB 3G + Wi-Fi is available for $709.00 with a standard twelve month warranty, and free shipping anywhere in Australia or New Zealand and can be ordered here.

The trouble is it remains to be seen how popular the device will become considering that quad core tablet PCs are available out there such as the Asus Transformer Prime, as many believed that Samsung would be installing its own Exynos processor into the device.

Will you be getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1?

no quad core…no 2+Gig ram…….no not interested……price is only competive value this could have and it ….does not! so why buy old hardware and design for new hardware money?

  2. I bought the new 10.1 tab 2, and I absolutely love it. I’ve been wanting a tablet for over a year. I could do easy internet stuff like twitter, facebook, surfing, and listening to internet radio, podcasts, and music that was smaller and more mobile then my laptop. And also i like play HD game with this gadget and run smoothly. The display is bright and crisp, text is very easy to read even when I have screen brightness all the way turned down.
