iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak demonstrated live Friday 25

If you happen to be one of the iOS unfaithful out there that enjoys going against the Apple grain and jailbreaking their iPhone, as pod2g previously mentioned, it appears that the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak will be demonstrated live during the Hack In The Box conference.

According to the guys over at iDownload Blog, it appears that not only will the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak be demonstrated live during the conference, but also will be released to the jailbreaking populace before the conference concludes.

Apparently the Hack In The Box Security Conference used their official Twitter account to announce ‘Jailbreak Live’ as of tomorrow, Friday the 25th of May, and if you happen to be in the area, they are offering a special one-day pass to those that wish to see history take place.

The guys seem to have worked out the earliest time we could see the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak to release, saying as Amsterdam is six-hours ahead of EST, and the conference runs from 09:00 to 18:00, the earliest possible release should be about 3:00AM Friday the 25th of May.

Also the official conference agenda lists the times that both the Chronic Dev Team and DevTeam will present their work, with the Evolution of iPhone Baseband Unlocks from MuscleNerd at 11:30 on the 24th of May, whilst on the 25th of May at 11:30 is the Corona jailbreak event, and at 13:00 is Absinthe event.

Therefore according to the guys calculations the Corona event should kick off at 5:30AM EST on Friday the 25th, and the Absinthe event kicks off at 7:00AM EST on Friday.

  1. Why couldn’t pod2g have just said “hey guys we’re releasing 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak on 25th May!” instead of making us guess when it was going to release. I mean come on, he has twitter, there’s no reason for not being able to at least made a date prediction when it was to be released!

TO gather the hype and attention and also play into Apples game, if they released when, apple could work to create a fix by that given time, I doubt the Mr. Cook wouldnt make them work to get it patched.

It DID NOT work on my Sprint iPhone 4s updated to 5.1.1 this morning. I tried at least 20 times on my mac and then several times on my PC. Followed the instructions exactly but it just didn’t work. Beware.. if you are already jailbroken on 5.0.1 and upgrade to 5.1.1 like i did you WILL lose your jailbreak and if you are unlucky like I am then you will not be able to get the jailbreak back with the new absinthe 2.0 . I am scared to try it on my AT&T iPhone 4s because it is jailbroken at 5.0.1 and i can’t chance losing that one too.!!!

Well, I have to admit that i had a lot of trouble at first with the new jailbreak but after the revision to absinthe 2.0.2 i have been able to easily jailbreak 3 iPhone 4s, 1 iPhone 4, and 1 iPhone 3gs. I have to give a giant THANK YOU to the chronic dev team and all who helped to make this new jailbreak possible.
