RedSn0w 0.9.12b2 jailbreak update with new rocky-racoon injection

This week has been a little crazy with updates, within this last week the Dev Team have been busy little bees updating jailbreak tools with 5.1.1 untether compatibly and this was using the Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether, some of the updates include Redsn0w 0.9.12b1, PwnageTool 5.1.1, cinject 0.5.4 and UltraSn0w 1.2.7.

Today we would like to update you with the latest news covering the RedSn0w 0.9.12b2 update, SAM unlockers and those with limera1n-able devices according to iDB will favour this update the most. The new option for SAM unlockers allowed users to restore activation tickets as well as other improvements. Well this new RedSn0w 0.9.12b2 update is now showing up on the Dev Team’s site and it features the new rocky-racoon injection, also includes the iBooks bug fix.

If you visit the Dev Team’s website they point out that this new jailbreak update points as said above towards limera1n device users, it will ask these users if they want to inject the new rocky-racoon using the DFU ramdisk method, if you have a lot of media on your device it is advised to use the backup/restore method aka ramdisk method that is apparently required to those with unactivated iPhones. However, you can use the Preferences pane if you wish to always use limera1n.

The new RedSn0w 0.9.12b2 update sorts out a few problems such as iBooks (old-bootrom 3GS iPhones), it will now offer better and useful error messages when things mess up.

Please do let us know if you use this new update, you probably do not need to use it if you are not experiencing the iBooks problem on your iPhone 3GS. Any comments you wish to share with us please do head on down below this article and comment away.
