Latest on WWDC 2012 and Follow Phones Review Tonight 6PM

Later today Apple will be kicking off the 2012 WWDC event in San Francisco with its keynote speech likely to be held by Tim Cook the Apple CEO, and tonight when the event begins the team at Phones Review will be keeping you up to date with all the latest news as it breaks.

This year’s event is believed to be similar to what was seen last year with the focus being on new software for the company’s mobile devices and its Macs. The keynote speech kicks off at 6pm UK time, but for those of you elsewhere in the world we have already given you the world times here. As we reported earlier today the iOS 6 operating system will be making its debut and is rumoured to be released in September, and there are a number of new features being tipped with the new software.

These include Apple’s own maps system along with deeper integration into the likes of Facebook, and previously sources have claimed that the software’s applications will see the biggest change. As soon as any mobile related news comes to light we will be reporting it to our readers, so remember to keep an eye on the site or your social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter.

As usual there will be no live feed from the event but we have already given you a list of some live blogs that will also be reporting from WWDC 2012. It is also believed that Apple will be showcasing the latest version of its Mac OS X software, but it will be iOS 6 that we will be most interested in. While it is not thought we will see a new iPhone later today, the latest version of the operating system may reveal some clues what the next handset will be like.

Apple has a history though of springing some surprises at their events so who’s to say they may not drop a bombshell by revealing a new smartphone, and if they do you can guarantee we will bring you the news on Phones Review.
