Sony Xperia tipo & tipo dual small and simple

We have some news today of two new Sony smartphones on the way, the Sony Xperia tipo and also the Sony Xperia tipo dual. One of these phones could be just the one you’re looking for if you want a small and simple device that actually looks pretty stylish too.

News of new Sony phones seems to be prominent right now, as already earlier today we’ve given you some details of the Sony Xperia Miro. Now the tipo handsets have been unveiled on Sony’s YouTube channel ahead of an official announcement. You can view a video showing the tipo dual phone below this story.

The tipo is the single SIM version while the tipo dual can switch between SIMs with the use of a dedicated hardware key. Users can even set up the tipo dual to switch automatically between SIMs depending on the time of day, according to Engadget, which is a pretty neat idea. Other features and specs of the tipo and tipo dual are an 800MHz processor, 3.2-inch TFT screen with resolution of 480 x 320 and impressively both phones will be launched running on Android 4.0 ICS.

Other inclusions are a 3.2-megapixel camera and 2.5GB of user-accessible memory (expandable with microSD). They also feature an easy set-up guide, sharing via Bluetooth and WiFi and long lasting batteries. There is no release date for either available yet or pricing but these look to be a pair of compact phones that many people would like to slip into their pockets.

Why not check out the video below of the Xperia tipo dual and you can see it actually looks pretty stylish for a compact phone. We’d like to hear your thoughts on this upcoming pair of phones though. Could you be tempted by either of them? If so, let us know by sending your comments.
