Angry Birds Heikki release date slips

Most of us would have played Angry Birds at one time or another since it was first released late in 2009 on the iOS platform, and since then we have seen the developer release various versions of the popular game, but today we have news that the Angry Birds Heikki release date slips a little.

Previously developer Rovio had revealed that the latest version of the game would be released today, June 18th, but as an article over at T3.com is reporting the Formula 1 tie-in Angry Birds Heikki release has slipped to next week, June 25th with no explanation. For some reason the developer has delayed the release of the game to exactly one week.

The official Angry Birds website now lists the game that is looking to build on the company’s sponsorship with Formula 1 driver Heikki Kovalainen, and the new release date is now coming a day after the European GP in Valencia, Spain with no reason why the game is not coming before then.

The details of what the game will be bringing to the Angry Birds stable are still a little thin on the ground, but Rovio has teased that it will focus around the racing drivers Angry Birds themed crash helmet, which will be worn by him during the entire 2012 Formula 1 season. The title of the game states “Where’s Heikki’s F1 racing helmet gone?! The Angry Birds have a hunch!”

Since it was first launched the platform has proven to be hugely successful that has seen the original game followed by a number of sequels that have included the likes of Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Space, and the movie tie-in Rio. Angry Birds Heikki is believed to take the Angry Birds characters and place them into a high speed racing environment.

Do you still enjoy playing Angry Birds or are you bored of it now and moved on to new things?
