Huawei Ascend D Quad European release tipped officially

The smartphone market is currently being dominated by Apple and Samsung but other manufacturers are trying to make some headway into the market with some worthy looking handsets, and today we have news of the Huawei Ascend D Quad and the European release being tipped officially.

As an article over at V3 is reporting the Chinese handset manufacturer has confirmed that its flagship smartphone will be hitting Europe and the UK by the autumn. A company spokesman stated that the Ascend D Quad would be landing in China by the end of August, and then be available in Western Europe from October.

The smartphone first made an appearance at the Mobile World Congress back in February, and is the Chinese company’s latest attempt to try and break into the top end of the smartphone market. The Ascend D Quad is down to come running the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system on a powerful mobile phone.

During the Mobile World Congress the company claimed their own K3V2 quad core processor that is clocked in at speeds of 1.2GHz and 1.5GHz, was the fastest of its kind in the world. Besides the quad core processor the Ascend D Quad features 4.5-inch screen with a 32 bit true colour processor, and 330ppi. And at the time the company claimed the display will at least compare to “industry leaders” smartphones.

Just to recap other features include an eight megapixel rear facing camera that is capable of 1080p HD video capture, while around the front is a 1.3 megapixel unit for video calls. Powering the smartphone is a 1,800 mAh battery which the company claims is powerful enough to provide two days of life with normal use, but the company has yet to reveal pricing for the unit, but last month some online retailers had the device listed with pricing.

Will you be getting the Huawei Ascend D Quad?
