Android ICS Philips W732 brings extended web browsing

It appears there will be a new Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone making an appearance over in China in the not too distant future form Philips in the from of the Philips W732 smartphone, an Android handset that is said to deliver extended web browsing of up to 10.5 hours.

According to the guys over at Unwired View, by way of IT168, the Philips W732 smartphone’s main attraction according to Philips is its 2400mAh battery, and intelligent power saving feature built into the handset that delivers a whopping 10.5 hours of web browsing or 13-hours of continuous talk time in a single charge.

The guys do say that if what Philips is claiming is spot on, and those web browsing stats are correct, the Philips W732 will be the longest lasting smartphone in the world, although the talk time doesn’t quite measure up to the Motorola RAZR MAXX or the Samsung Galaxy S3 on 2G.

Spec wise the Philips W732 is an Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone with a 4.3-inch LCD IPS touch screen, a 5 megapixel camera, hot-swappable dual SIM support, 1GHz MediaTek MT6575 single core processor, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and 5.76Mbps HSUPA.

Although the Motorola RAZR MAXX packs a whopping 3300mAh battery, tests show that the device can deliver a massive 20-hours 24-minutes of talk time, however when it comes to web browsing the Motorola RAZR MAXX can only manage 7-hours 23-minutes apparently, so it would appear the Philips W732 beats the RAZR MAXX hands down when it comes to web browsing.

The Philips W732 smartphone measures 126.37 x 67.44 x 12.3mm with a weight of 166.5 grams and is expected to become available in China sometime soon, in 5 colour options, black, white, pink, blue and green, there is currently no word on when the Philips W723 will hit the market as of yet.
