I’m sure most in the Android space are aware that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is making its way to the Samsung Nexus S, and now the word is that Android Jelly Bean is available for the HTC Nexus One, although in an unofficial manner, as word has it a pre-alpha Android Jelly Bean ROM is now available.

According to an article over on Ubergizmo, Taxasice of XDA-Developers has now made available a pre-alpha Android Jelly Bean ROM for the Nexus One handset, and those that have already flashed the ROM say is appears to be running in ‘decent condition.’

The developer of the Jelly Bean ROM says some of the features that are working for him include WiFi and Tether, Rotation, Bluetooth, Sound, Mic, GPS, Data, Trackball, Apps2sd, USB Mass Storage, and HWA is working a tad slow but is fine for now, although the developer does add mileage may vary user to user.

Of course as this ROM for the Nexus One is a pre-alpha there will obviously be bugs and errors, but if you are a Nexus One owner and would like to give the pre-alpha Android Jelly Bean ROM a whirl you can grab all the necessary instructions to download by heading on over to XDA-Developers.

Naturally is goes without saying that you download and install at your own risk, and you should realise that it should not be used as your main ROM but rather as a taste of Android Jelly Bean.
