History Channel launches iOS app for history buffs

For those iOS faithful over in the good old US of A that enjoy all things history, and exploring historic locations around their country, you might like to know that the History Channel has now released an iOS app to the App Store, and that app is called History Here.

The History Here app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and Apple iPad offers and easy to use interface along with thousands of exclusive points of interest written by History Channel’s history experts, photos, videos and dynamic maps that apparently brings history to life anywhere in the US.

With the History Here iOS app the user can select their current location via GPS or opt to choose any location in the USA, view history photos and stream history videos from within the application, along with displaying historic locations in a map based zoomable view or a scrolling list.

The History Here iOS app also offers the ability to customise your search to view history points of interest from next door to 100 miles distance, along with the ability to share your locations with family and friends via email or social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, and the History Channel is continually adding more points of interest.
