Android ICS Micromax A100 released in India

Here’s a quickie for our readers that might be over in India and in the market for an upcoming Android smartphone, apparently the word is MicroMax is gearing up to launch a new Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone in the country quite soon, the MicroMax A100 smartphone, which is a dual SIM handset said to sport a 5-inch touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels.

According to an article over on IBN Live, The Micromax A100 is an Android Ice Cream Sandwich packing handset that features 4GB internal memory along with microSD expansion up to 32GB, and the smartphone sports a 5 megapixel rear facing camera, but unfortunately there’s no word on what processor or RAM the handset packs

Other known specifications of the Micromax A100 include Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, measures 142.2 x 72.6 x 11.9mm with a weight of 168 grams and a 2000mAh battery.

However; on searching for more details on the Micromax A100, it appears that according to NDTV Gadgets, Micromax has now launched the A100 in India, and we now know that the device will sport a 1GHz dual core processor, and commands a price tag of RS.12990 and comes with the AISHA voice assistant pre-installed, and apparently is available for purchase as of today.

Along with the Micromax A100, the company also launched the Micromax A90, again an Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone this time with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touch screen along with an 8 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash, a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera, a 1GHz dual core processor, 1600mAh battery, AISHA voice assistant, and again prices at Rs.12990.

So there you go, two new Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone from Micromax now available over in India, will any of our Indian readers be picking up one of these new devices?

    13k for a MediaTek device is a bit high. I hope Karbonn doesn’t screw it up by have large price tags with the A18, A21 and A24
