the battery pack may be useful for long travel at that price point, while the dongle is of questionable value. I have tried, unsuccessfully btw so far, to get my S3 to all share with a samsung laptop, a macbook, a samsung Bluray player, a western digital media hub, and a Linksys media center. The ones that see files won’t play them and sending from the S3 and magically showing up on the screen is balderdash. Certainly there is a compatible media box that samsung allshare works with that is at,slightly more or even less than this dongles price point.
Sorry ronf57 but you don’t know what you’re talking about. I have streamed films wireless to a few different samsung televisions. They just have to be compatible. It works fine and I’m sure the cast hub (which I ordered the other day) will too.
Can the Galaxy Tab 2 use this “Allshare Cast Dongle” to stream movies to an HDTV, as it too is a DLNA – wifi – Allshare device? and afterall it is also a Samsnug! …
othet battery pack cases are available, bought mine with flip cover on ebay for just £25 and it provides 60% extra juice. Bit chunky though. Also just odered the allshare hub as it lets you mirror the phone screen wirelessly. Nothing else can do this and is perfect for browsing web and gaming. Not sure, but i dont think smart tv alone will allow this.
