Samsung Galaxy S3 Orange UK Quick Tap NFC not so sweet: Update

Have you got the Samsung Galaxy S3? If you have then you will be very pleased to hear that Orange is offering the new Quick Tap NFC feature, which makes this the first Android phone to have this functionality, payments just got easier, there is one snag that we explain below.

Barclaycard and Orange have joined forces to provide the Quick Tap, that will provide Samsung Galaxy S3 users the option to pre-load their device with up to £150 via credit or debit card, this means that they can then make separate payments of up to £20 by tapping their handset at NFC payment points, pointed out by ITProPortal.

Main Quick Tap Features Include: Pay quickly with just a tap of your phone, make fewer trips to the cash point, no need to carry a lot of money with you, keep an eye on your spending habits with the Barclaycard payment app, and get 5% cashback on your purchases for 90 days.

There is a nice deal for new customers but not so sweet if you are a current customer, Orange is offering new subscribers £50 as part of its deal, all you need to do is sign up and get the money credited to your account straight away so that you can enjoy the benefits. This deal is for new subscribers ONLY, if you have this handset with Orange UK already then you will not be able to access to Quick Tap, for now that is.

The new Barclaycard-powered smart purchasing stations are only in a few places at this given time, such as Pret a Manger, EAT, Wembley Arena, M6 Toll Road and Subway.

Customers will be able to get their hands on the new NFC-ready SIMs thanks to the partnership with Gemalto, and since then the Quick Tap S3 roll out began. Please do let us know if you will be using the Samsung Galaxy S3 Orange UK Quick Tap NFC feature?
