Most Popular Phones That Have Been Recycled in 2011 – 2012

Over the past year we have seen a good number of smartphones released onto the market, some have been pioneering handsets that have added value and some have fell under the radar not living up to expectations. Most notably we have seen the Apple iPhone 4S in October 2011 and the Apple iPhone 5 in September 2012 from Apple, and the Galaxy S2 and S3 released by rivals Samsung.

With every new phone release a phone is always made redundant, whether an individual is looking to update a phone due to the end of a contract, or simply looking at investing in new technology.

According to mobile phone recycling price comparison website, SellMyMobile.com, over the course of the past 12 months Apple and Blackberry fill in the top 6 spots of most popular traded in phones. Samsung, surprisingly to some are down in 7th with the Galaxy S handset.

So which phones are those that get recycled the most?

1) Apple iPhone 3GS 16GB, 2) iPhone 4 16GB, 3) Blackberry Curve 8520, 4) iPhone 3G 8GB, 5) Blackberry Bold 9700, 6) Apple iPhone 4S 16GB, 7) Samsung Galaxy S i9000, 8) HTC Desire, 9) Blackberry Torch 9800, and in at number 10 is the iPhone 4 32GB.

Wondering where Nokia appears? They don’t appear until 15 places down the list with the 5800 XpressMusic, followed closely by the N8 in 17th.

This time next year we will probably see a few more Apple devices make the list. The iPhone 4S appearing near the top, and possibly the iPhone 5 may take a place in the top 20. We should also see a few of the newer Samsungs appearing up there with the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S3 making a mark on the most recycled.

Please do let us know what handset you have had recycled?
