Ultrasn0w Fixer unlocks iOS 6 on iPhone 3GS & 4

If you are into tinkering with your iOS device you’ll know that devs and such are trying to circumvent Apple’s security and take advantage of any gaps and loopholes in Apple’s latest operating system, iOS 6 so that the operating system can be unlocked and jailbroken, and there are differences between jailbreaking and unlocking a device, because jailbreaking allows unsigned code to run on an iOS device, whilst unlocking a device enables any SIM card to be used in the handset.

Most carriers do offer ways of unlocking older handset, but when it comes to the iPhone you’ll probably require an unlocking solution, and if you have been preserving your baseband so you can unlock your handset you will no doubt know about the jailbreak utility called Ultrasn0w Fixer, which according to Redmond Pie has now been updated for Apple’s latest operating system iOS 6.

However, don’t go expecting to be able to unlock your iPhone 5 with Ultrasn0w Fixer, because you wont be able to do so, as the updated version of Ultrasn0w Fixer for iOS 6 will only work with the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 with basebands 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.13.01, 05.12.01, and 06.15.00.

You will require your device on a jailbreak iOS 6 with preserved baseband, and then launch Cydia, hit Manage and Sources, and then add the iparelhos repository by hitting Edit, and Add, and then http://repo.iparelhos.com. Once done open the repo and look for Ultrasn0w Fixer for 6.0 utility, then hit the install button and Cydia will then do its work.

Next you need to download the latest official version of Ultrasn0w via Cydia, and then install, and once done you are done, but remember to install Fixer before Ultrasn0w otherwise it simply wont work properly.

So there you go, unlocking the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS on iOS 6 with Ultrasn0w Fixer, so if you do give this method a go fell free to let us know how it all goes and if you experience and problems or not by dropping us a line to our comments area below.

I have searched and YouTube’d a ridiculous amount of forums and still can’t get my iphone 4 unlocked. It still says “SOS Only”.. I’m running iOS6 and baseband is 04.12.02
Is there anyone with a solution!?

I got it to work (finally) by:
open redsn0w, click on jailbreak, follow directions. Un-check box that says install Cydia (you should already have it installed) and check the box that says Downgrade from ipad baseband. Go through the process, then once it’s finished, turn off, select boot tethered. From there, turn the phone back off, open redsn0w, click on jailbreak, uncheck box that says install cydia, and check the box that says install ipad baseband. Let it do it’s thing, power it off and then boot tethered again. Go into cydia, un-install the ultrasn0w fixer and ultrasn0w, respring, boot tethered, re-intall fixer and ultrasn0w, boot tethered and then when I did that, about 10 min after with me now touching anything, all of a sudden it found the network.

***********You can only do the baseband thing if your serial number is LOWER than 134************** (mine is 042) When you install the ipad baseband it will warn you of this cause you will brick your device if your serial number is higher than 134.

Not sure why or how this worked but it did. Good luck!

works for me !!! I also tried to play with basebands downgrading but , seems I made not enough restarts :))
      thank you indeed.

p.s. i didn’t need to reinstall the fixer and ultrasnow. after rebooting (tethered) network was foud instantly.

thank you so much. finally got a signal after more than 12 hours of worrying… i didn’t do the ‘install ipad baseband’ part. just this: “open redsn0w, click on jailbreak, follow directions. Un-check box that
says install Cydia (you should already have it installed) and check the
box that says Downgrade from ipad baseband. Go through the process, then
once it’s finished, turn off, select boot tethered. Go into cydia, un-install the ultrasn0w fixer and ultrasn0w, respring,
boot tethered, re-intall fixer and ultrasn0w, boot tethered…”

I have iPhone 3Gs here in THAILAND.
I followed exactly everything you wrote and after restarting the springboard it shows “searching”, then, later on “no service”. My sim card is perfectly working on my other iPhone 3Gs. I do not know why it’s not working.

    Please help. Thank you.

    My baseband 6.15.00
I first installed the fixer and error appeared after installing
    I then installed official ultrasn0w 1.2.7

It is not working. No service

      Ramon

I had problems with a 6.15.00 baseband 3GS. Using redsn0w 9.15b2 I could only upgrade to IOS 6 by wiping my unlocked baseband. After jailbreaking I used Ultrasn0w and fixer 6.0 but it kept coming up with errors. I then read this and just tried the first part jailbreaking unchecking the Cydia and checking the downgrade from ipad baseband. After reboot it had signal and worked as before.
