Quite often with mobile technology retailers can leak upcoming products long before they are made official by the companies that make them or the various carriers that offer the devices for sale. Today we have news of the LG spectrum 2 showing its face on the Best Buy website before the Verizon release.

The guys over at Phone Arena are reporting that back in the summer the handset was seemingly coming to the US carrier, as the device showed up on Verizon’s systems. Trouble is nothing has so far happened with the smartphone, and recently the carrier was busy updating the original LG Spectrum to the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Now the LG Spectrum 2 has appeared on retailers Best Buy’s website and is selling for $649.99 unlocked, but currently it is listed as being sold out online. Just to recap the specifications for the Spectrum 2 include a 4.7-inch LCD touchscreen that has a resolution of 720 x 1280.

This provides a pixel density of an impressive 312ppi, while this is powered by the dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 processor, which is clocked at 1.5GHz. Along with this is an Adreno 225 GPU graphics processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of built in storage that can be expanded further thanks to the microSD card port.

Camera wise there is an 8 megapixel camera sitting on the back, while around the front is a 1.3 megapixel unit for video chats, and the handset has the Android 4.0.4 installed. While there has been no official word on the LG Spectrum 2 yet, the fact that it is already sitting on Best Buy’s website must mean its release is almost here, and the image from the site is suggesting November 3rd.
