Nokia Lumia 920 & 820 AT&T release date and price tipped

Earlier this week Microsoft unveiled the Windows Phone 8 operating system to the world and gave rough release timeframes for some of the hardware launching on the platform. The flagship smartphone on the platform for the time being will be the Nokia Lumia 920, and the release date and price for the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 over in the US on AT&T is being tipped.

The handset will be exclusive to the carrier for a while and there has been a number of different release dates given for the device in the past, and on Monday Microsoft said it will be available by November, but now according to GottaBe Mobile it seems the actual release date will be on the 9th.

This latest release date rumour is two days earlier than the previous November 11th that was being suggested, and the new date is thought to coincide with the release of the Nokia Lumia 820 as well. It is also being claimed that the Lumia 920 will cost $149 with a new two year contract, while the Lumia 820 will only cost $49 with the same length of contract.

It has to be remembered for the time being this hasn’t been confirmed by the carrier itself, but there is a good chance that this latest release date could be accurate. This date though is also the same time that AT&T will be launching the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to its expectant customers, so it remains to be seen if the company will launch all three smartphones on the same day.

To help more consumers sign up for the Nokia Lumia 920 it is believed that the carrier will be offering a free wireless charge matt with the handset, and the device will be competing with the HTC 8X for customers that have decided to give the Windows Phone 8 platform a try.

Are you going to get the Nokia Lumia 920 from AT&T?
