One of the most hotly awaited smartphones at the moment is the LG Nexus 4, Google’s next Nexus phone that offers a pure Android experience. This will release later this month running the next Android OS update, 4.2 Jelly Bean, which will surely be a huge selling point to Android enthusiasts. As the new Nexus phone looks set to be such a popular device, today we want to ask readers about their most sought after features on the Nexus 4.
Yesterday we posted an article comparing three of the phones likely to be big successes for the holiday season, the Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 5. From our readers comments there seems to be plenty of excitement and anticipation about the Nexus 4 and so we thought we’d ask exactly what is drawing readers to this device. The Nexus 4 certainly does have a lot to offer and so first we’ll remind you that it has a 1.5GHz Qualcomm quad-core Krait processor, 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus display with resolution of 1280 x 768, 2GB of RAM and 8 or 16GB of internal storage (not expandable). There’s also an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capture and the PhotoSphere panorama feature plus 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 2100mAh battery and of course that Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
As you can see from the above the Nexus 4 has a lot to get excited about including a powerful quad-core processor, the camera capabilities with the new PhotoSphere panorama feature, the latest Android OS and a large-capacity battery that should give plenty of juice to even heavy phone users. One negative that jumps out is the low amount of storage available, especially as it’s non-expandable, and we know from readers comments already that many feel this is a pretty big drawback. However there are so many other positive points about the Nexus 4 that there’s still plenty to admire.
The design is also pretty sleek and has drawn positive praise from those who’ve managed to have a hands-on experience and another hugely attractive point for the Nexus 4 is the price. It will be sold unlocked through Google Play for $299 /£239 for the 8GB version of $349 /£279 for the 16GB version. For such top-notch specs these non-contract prices are a massive attraction and another big selling point. As you can see then there’s a huge amount of excellent features to choose from when trying to decide your most sought after feature on the Nexus 4 and that’s where we’d like to hear from you, the readers.

I’m going to be ditching my iPhone for this when it gets released. Great price (in fact amazing price) for the specs. 16 GB isn’t that small. So some people will have to manage their storage better, *Meh* Oh well, if it bothers you that much don’t get one. The only (and its a really small only) gripe is the fact the battery can’t be removed, so there’s no chance of having a back-up battery for emergencies. But it’s the same with my iPhone so I can live with that. All in all, amazing phone for the money.
Surely not that much of a gripe after having an iPhone which also doesn’t have a removable battery. 😉
The first cell phone in my life was the nexus one. I was hooked after that, to the pure vanilla nexus devices. In the past they lacked the price and the specs were not at par with the software. It finally catches up with nexus 4. Incredible price, top end specs and vanilla experience.
Screw the LTE, I am going for NEXUS 4, Used by God & made by Google. Since the launch of iphone 1.0 this is first time I am exited about a new smart phone launch. – Best value for Money.
galaxy nexus owner here; I will be upgrading to the nexus 4. Been on 16gb with the nexus, never needed more if I do, I will use drive!

Great spec, great features and a reasonable price. I’ve also purchased a nexus 7 and haven’t used my iPad since I got it. Awesome stuff Google, keep it up!
8 or 16GB is great isn’t it? meanwhile everyone else offers 16GB, 32GB and even micro SD card slots.
To be honest the majority of my data is stored in the cloud, I don’t play many games and I have a 50GB box account if I need to archive anything. I can have up to 20,000 tracks stored on google music which take up no space at all. SD cards are great until you remove them and forget which card you’ve got installed and lose the one you thought you had.
Considering the price, and how cheap the N4 will be, I’m really not fussed about the storage options.
I store stuff on my NAS and then use “ES File Explorer”. When I’m away from my home LAN, I connect using my home VPN connection. Job done.
Everyone else also charges another $200 for the privilege.
This phone looks to be an awesome smartphone experience! There’s no way I’m letting such small qualms about the lack of LTE and storage options fool me into missing out on a beautiful and incredibly priced device.
mm I got the Galaxy Nexus, but its kinda screwed at the moment, the vibration doesnt work and every now and then have to restart the phone because it loses signal, when majority of the time i would have full signal…all because the phone fell out of my pocket and slammed into a pillar 😀 So perhaps the price of getting it fixed, i may aswell get a new phone thats 100% working (touch wood)….Also i hope the overall volume of the phone is louder too. From Day 1 my galaxy Nexus is so quiet, even on highest volume, and its not good considering i use my phone as an alarm for work in the morning (am still using my old phone for alarm)…I just hope the volume, is a hardware thing, rather than software, Perhaps LGs speaker with on the new nexus may be louder than Samsungs Speaker on the GN?…I don’t know!….But still £239-279 for something this awesome is too good to ignore 🙂
The most important feature for me is the overall High Specification of the phone at the amazing price.
Expandable memory would be nice but Apple have managed without for years and there is no indication they will change anytime soon and with a little foresight it shouldn’t be a problem though I will be buying the 16GB model.
LTE in the UK is a non starter anyway due to limited availability and outrageous costs for what is available. HSPA+ is plenty fast for phone use and the LTE plans currently available stipulate in their terms and conditions that the data is for Mobile use only so the most desireable benefit to 4g for me (tethering) is out of the question anyway.
What we have here is a phone which in my option is one of the most elegant looking phones I have seen which has an overall spec that equals or exceeds that of the competition at half the price.
Smart moneys on the Nexus… The price is simply market-shattering. Add to that, being a Nexus device it will be the only phone right now other than previous nexus phones to come shipped with a pure Android experience and will get future updates as soon as they are available. For me, the combination of just those two things make buying the Nexus a no-brainer and hands down the current best smartphone on the market!!!
I’ll still be buying unlocked, the specs are to high and the price is too low to miss out on this phone

Great price and tired of Apple bull no really big changes and the maps app sucks so going to try the Nexus that looks pretty good and Google improve a lot with their Google Now, much better than Siri and other stuff.
Unfettered Android (free from both handset UI mucking-about and network-installed permenant crapplications) is a real draw.
I recently swapped my existing SIM for a microSIM in preparation for the Nexus 4, and my Atrix threw a hissy-fit, demanding I log into my ‘Motoblur’ account before letting me back into my phone (while still happily popping up notification icons about mail I’d received), necessitating half an hour of “what throwaway did I use again?” until I could get back in. Thanks Motorola, I really wanted to muck about with your entirely pointless crap in order to continue to use my phone, for no apparent reason.

I hope I don’t have to wait. !!!.. nexus is the the way 4ward I’ve only missed the gnex coz I liked the Gnote so much but god touchwiz or touchjiz is a fuckng scab on android not a skin.. more sin than skin.
Literally haven’t been this excited about a new phone since iphone4 ! Sick of apple OS, sick of 24 month contracts, and finally, not really related, totally sick of Orange’s name change to EE – got to be this biggest corporate name change gaff of all time! Looking forward to getting an off-contract phone that I can try a few different networks . Vodafone , potentially a great change to my piss-poor reception, or O2 , with their supern visual voicemail nutter face… Any hoo, can’t wait to get this phone, just brilliant!!
No 4G is a deal breaker for me :/
