Windows Phone 8 Skype review download, final soon

Microsoft has recently taken the wraps of its new Windows Phone 8 mobile phone operating system that the company is looking to provide a larger slice of the smartphone market. As hardware on the platform begins to become available around the world we now have news of the Windows Phone 8 Skype review that is ready for download, with the final version available soon.

One of the big features of Windows Phone 8 is the integration with Skype that Microsoft now owns, and consumers already picking up the Nokia Lumia 920 or HTC 8X were left disappointed with the app not coming pre-loaded in the hardware, and also availability of it on the Windows Phone store.

The Skype Blog has now announced the availability of a preview version of the application for the new platform, and it brings with it all the basic features along with an all new up to date design. The new app is deeply integrated with Windows Phone 8 and will allow users to make video calls alongside normal voice calls.

On the Skype download page users are advised that the app is a work in progress and some features won’t work as they should, which include “call reliability and the ability to receive incoming calls and chat notifications when outside of the app”.

The new application has the new People Hub feature that allows users to see all of their Skype contacts and begin a conversation with a simple tap, and even if the app is closed down users will still receive some call and message notifications allowing an instant response. The app has a file size of 512MB and the final release is expected in the coming few weeks. Below we have embedded a video of the new app in action for your enjoyment.
