Samsung Galaxy S2 Titanium 4G via Boost Mobile
The Samsung Galaxy S2 was a smash in its day and was followed by the Galaxy S3 this year, another huge success for Samsung. It may seem strange then that Boost Mobile has come up with a new handset for offer that is basically a reworked Galaxy S2 (S II), but this one is called the Samsung Galaxy S2 4G in Titanium. This handset became available from Boost Mobile yesterday and is its latest prepaid device.
Essentially the Galaxy S2 4G has the specs of the original Galaxy S2 that released in 2011 but it also has WiMax radios, which can now be used with Boost Mobile as Sprint is its parent network. Some key specs and features include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 16GB of internal memory and it runs Android 4.0 ICS. It also has an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080 video capture and a 2-megapxiel front-facer, dual mode 3G/4G and battery offering around 8 hours of talk time.
The unlocked price of the Samsung Galaxy S2 4G through Boost Mobile is $369.99 and it’s available through Boost Mobile retail stores, online at boostmobile.com, and select independent wireless dealer locations nationwide. Purchasers can also obtain a Boost Mobile no-contract Android Monthly Unlimited Plan at $55 with shrinking payments. This can eventually go down to only $40 monthly.
We can’t help agreeing with Talk Android though that for a 2011 smartphone with a 4G update the unlocked price seems pretty hefty. Especially considering the brand new LG Nexus 4 has just released with top-notch specs such as a quad-core processor and the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and the unlocked price is from $299 at the Google Play Store. At the moment the Nexus 4 is sold out but it might be worth considering as an alternative if you don’t mind waiting although it doesn’t have LTE connectivity.

If it has Titanium metal body instead of earlier plastic body, it will have a different feel.
I was considering to drop boost mobile and go to sprint because of the lack of phone selection but because of the Galaxy S2 I am tempted to stay with boost mobile. $40 a month of unlimited everything is a very hard thing to leave. But the GS2 might be just what I need to stay.
Buying the Galaxy SII on Boost Mobile was costly on the
front end, but for the versatility and long term saving it’s a good choice.
Finally, a (power) smart phone available to pre-paid customers. The fact this phone comes with 16gigs is a
plus coupled with the hotspot broadcast is cherries on top…..Basically if you
need a up-to-date smart phone without a contract this is the direction to go.
