Android Jelly Bean 4.2 update leaves out Christmas 2012

The festive season is almost upon us, and Christmas isn’t that far off, but if you own a Nexus device that has received the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 update, which was recently pushed out, it seems that the Google guys have becomes a bit of a Scrooge and decided to skip over Christmas 2012.

According to a report over on The Next Web, when Google rolled out the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 update to their Nexus devices, it appears that they decided to leave out the month of December from the People app.

Apparently the last month of the year still shows up in the calendar app and other features, however the Peoples app, which is the centre of the mobile operating system’s social experience has for some strange reason been overlooked when it comes to December 2012.

So basically those that have received the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 update will not see such important friends birthdays, and significant dates such as Christmas Eve, and of course Christmas Day.

However, obviously as the Jelly Bean update hasn’t actually hit that many devices yet, it shouldn’t be to widespread an issue, and only a few will have December missing from their device. Hopefully the Google guys will quickly get round to delivering a fix for this missing December issue sometime this month, otherwise it could be seen as a bit embarrassing to say the least.

So we’d like to hear from any of our readers that own a Nexus device and received the 4.2 Jelly Bean update to let us know if the missing month of December 2012 will be a bit of an issue for you. So feel free to let us know by dropping us a line to our comments area below.
