Jelly Bean Galaxy S2 Plus possibly arriving next year
Back last year Sammy’s flagship smartphone was the popular Samsung Galaxy S2, which gave way to the even more popular Samsung Galaxy S3 that currently now dominates the mobile space. However there is a possibility the Galaxy S2 might just make a new appearance sometime next year as a mid-range Android smartphone adding a ‘Plus’ to its moniker.
Word has it that an unnamed insider has informed Sammobile, according to a report by Android Authority, that the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus will arrive in the mobile space in the first quarter of 2013, with old Sammy shipping the Chic White version of the Galaxy S2 Plus as of week three.
There will also be a Dark Blue Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, which is said to become available as of week five, and both handsets will only sport 8GB of storage, and the handsets will apparently ship running Android Jelly Bean out of the box, and will have the Nature UX interface. But other than that not much else is know about the smartphone.
However there have been rumours in the past that old Sammy would be bringing a Plus vision of the Samsung Galaxy S2, which rumour has it will sport a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen, so it is quite possible the handset might be larger than the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini.
Of course as this information has come from the usual ‘unnamed source’ one can’t take it as gospel, and thus should treat this purely as rumour until such times as the Korean manufacturer puts some officialness to the rumours.
It is suggested that the Galaxy S2 Plus will sit squarely between the Galaxy S3 mini and the Samsung Premier. The Samsung Premier being an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean handset with a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display that will apparently become available this month in Russia and followed thereafter in other markets.
And that’s your lot on the Galaxy S2 Plus for now, but if the device is on the cards, old Sammy will make an official announcement sooner or later and we should the find out all about the device.
Would any of our readers be interested in picking up the Samsung Galaxy 2 Plus if it becomes available early next year?
