Nexus 7 and 4 stock schedule replenishes Christmas hope: Update

There are many Android fans that love the Nexus range of hardware due to the fact that users are treated to a standard experience of the operating system, and updates normally get pushed out to the devices before carrier specific versions. Google recently released the Nexus 4 and added new options for the Nexus 7 but getting hold of stock has been a major issue due to high demand, and there will be many that hope that the stock schedule will improve in time for Christmas as Google replenishes some devices.

We have reported before about the stock issues affecting the hugely popular Nexus 4, which sold out on the Google Play Store almost instantly of becoming available, and now we have received an email from one of our excited readers about their order of a LG Nexus 4.

They received an email from Google saying that they handset is due to be shipped this week and when it does they would receive another email with tracking information. As soon as the device ships the customer will be charged in full for the smartphone, and as a gesture of goodwill by Google within seven days they will be refunded the shipping cost of the device.

At the time of writing both versions of the handset are showing out of stock on the Google Play Store, but hopefully with orders now being sent out fresh stock may soon be coming in time for Christmas.

Meanwhile Google has added new stock of the 32GB Nexus 7 with 3G for consumers in the UK, but you better be quick as stock of this version also sold out quickly before. The company currently has the device down for shipping in one to two weeks, which will be perfect for those of you looking to pick one up before Christmas.

There is also stock showing for the 16GB and 32GB Nexus 7 on the Google Play Store, but as we reported before, in the UK at least some retailers are offering the device cheaper than Google. The Google Nexus brand is quickly becoming one of the hottest properties in the Android market especially since the Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 7 tablet PC were introduced, and that’s not forgetting about the lovely Nexus 10.Update: Google has announced that the Nexus 4 will be available for order via Google Play from 12 noon PST in the US.

Have you received an email from Google about your Nexus order?

Three Network are going to start selling the 8GB model (that Google was selling for £249) for a whopping £399, SIM only. It makes me wonder just how much longer this handset will be available at the Google subsidized price. It also makes me wonder how many people would pay an extra £150 or so just to get their hands on a Nexus 4. I for one am now seriously considering an iPhone 5 or to wait for the new BB10 handset.

lol @ andy. Can’t wait for a nexus 4 to be in stock but can wait for a bb10 (to be finished). The iphone 5 comment also contradicts the moan about inflated prices. I guess that’s why nobody takes macolites seriously. They can’t string together a good or convincing argument
