HTC One VX on AT&T, almost forgotten but coming by December 7

Some of you may have been waiting impatiently for the HTC One VX being released on AT&T although other readers may have completely forgotten about this phone due to its non-appearance so far. Many weeks ago we told how this 4G LTE handset was coming to AT&T along with the HTC 8X and HTC One X+ but so far there’s been no sign of the HTC One VX. However we now hear that the HTC One VX will be released by December 7.

Over two weeks ago we informed readers that the mid-level HTC One VX was now available to pre-order through AT&T at a budget price of $49 with the usual two-year contract. The launch date given at that time was November 16 but lo and behold that date came and went without even a glimpse of the One VX. The phone does not appear on AT&T’s website even and though AT&T plainly said that it would release at the same time as the One X+ that handset turned up without the One VX in tow.

However according to Android Central, AT&T has now given some further details of the M.I.A One VX and say that it “expects to be fully stocked in all channels by December 7.” This is of course promising news for those waiting for the HTC One VX though as the date has been pushed back once already we’d wait until you actually have it in your hands before you believe the new date given.

If you haven’t yet decided whether to make the HTC One VX your next smartphone then let us refresh you of the specs. It has a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 4.5-inch Super LCD2 display with resolution of 960 x 540 and 245 ppi, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (expandable to 32GB via microSD). There’s also a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing shooter, 4G LTE connectivity, NFC, 1800 mAh battery and it launches on Android 4.0 ICS, upgradable to Jelly Bean with HTC Sense v4+. Dimensions of the One VX are 133.5mm x 67.6mm x 9.2mm and it weighs 124.7g.

This is a decent enough handset at an affordable price and could win over some readers who might want to add it to their Christmas wish lists, provided it releases promptly this time around.
