Nokia Laser WP8 Verizon phone with similar Lumia 920 specs

#

Nokia continue to attempt to make fresh inroads in the mobile market and over the last few weeks we’ve heard some details of the Nokia Lumia EOS smartphone, a true PureView Windows Phone handset as well as a new phone dubbed the Catwalk, aimed to be a Nokia Lumia 920 replacement. Now we have heard of yet another upcoming Nokia Lumia device, a high-end phone headed to Verizon and dubbed the Nokia Laser.

We already informed readers that the Catwalk would be based on the Lumia 920 and now it appears that the Nokia Laser will be yet another Lumia 920 variant. It’s good to hear that Verizon will be carrying a top-notch Lumia Windows Phone handset and it sounds as though the Laser is intended to be just that. It’s news that should please many of Big Red’s customers who will no doubt be happy that they will be able to get their hands on the Laser.

The Verge reports that Verizon wants this to be one of its flagship devices and has every intention of some serious marketing as far as the Laser is concerned, promoting it along with other top-tier smartphones. Microsoft also has intentions to heavily market the Nokia Laser and is reportedly ready to invest big bucks to do so.

Other details of the Nokia Laser are so far sparse and we cannot say when the phone will release on Verizon other than it will arrive later this year. Remember that ‘Laser’ could well be a codename and the phone may arrive with a different moniker altogether.

Are you a Verizon customer and if so are you open to trying out a Windows Phone handset? Do you think a phone such as the Nokia Laser could be your next choice of smartphone? Let us know with your comments.

I love my HTC DINC2. I’ve been eyeing the WP8s lately though. This past weekend we upgraded the wife to the Nokia L822 WP8. Previous had a Samsung Fascinate (Android) with issues. She was fine with Android but since Saturday’s upgrade she’s having trouble putting the L822 down. The camera takes awesome shots. I’m impressed enough (with hands on use when I find she’s set it down for a moment) to say latah to to Android and go with the WP8 if and when the L920 or “Laser” comes to Vz

I am a Sprint customer who is dying to leave and will convert to Verizon the day they get a high end Nokia phone and bring my entire family with me….

Had all android phones in the past. My current is the Rezound. I really want to see Verizon get a Flagship Nokia phone. I don’t want the 920 but would like to see a all new WP8 with Nokia come to Verizon. Bigger and better camera that blows away GS3 and Iphone 5. Want to see a micro SD slot and also come with a 2800 or bigger battery. It seems like these are the majority vote on other forums.
People say WP won’t last but I think this is only the beginning for them and it will only get better if Nokia pushes the limit with the next Flagship and takes it to Big Red first and continues to AT&T, Sprint, and T-mobile.
Don;t Blow it Nokia. My upgrade is in a few months and I want one on my bureau..

It’s time to get rid of my BlackBerry (frankly, I am tired of paying a premium for corporate data) and I definitely want a high-end Windows Phone 8 device. My contract comes up in FEB but is the timing right or am I going to have to settle for an HTC 8X?

I’ve tried a couple of Droids and have been an iPhone user since day one. I’m so over apple. I would give the Nokia a shot. Time to get rid of apple.
