Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Wishlist of potential beast

#

Such is the grip that Samsung currently enjoys on the Android smartphone market at the moment we get to hear almost daily speculation regarding the company’s next flagship device. While we have been seeing a number of reports regarding the Galaxy S4, which will likely be the next release from Samsung, speculation is mounting already for the Galaxy Note 3 with Android fans adding features to their wish list for the potential beast of a smartphone.

The Galaxy Note 2 has only been with us for a few months but thoughts are already turning to its replacement, but some Samsung fans would like to see the company make the device look even more premium.

One criticism from some people about Samsung is the cheap plastic feel to the handsets, and many would prefer an aluminium shell similar to what has been seen on the Apple iPhone. Trouble is this would increase the price of the handset by quite a bit especially considering the size of it, and the fact the Note 3 is rumoured to go even larger next time around at 6.3-inhces.

It is expected to come powered by the recently announced Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor that features eight cores, which actually come in two sets of four. This allows for improved battery life with standard tasks being taken care by one set of four cores, and the other four processing more demanding features.

Owners of the Galaxy Note 2 have spoken about the great battery life on such a large smartphone, and improved even further will only be a good thing. It would be nice if Samsung would improve its TouchWiz Android overlay which is often criticized by many users that leads to many rooting the device to install custom ROMs.

Having a screen of that size offering a Full HD display seems almost certain considering the amount of other 5-inch+ smartphones with this that are now becoming available, but while this is not expected to be seen until later in the year there are some that wonder if Samsung may surprise the smartphone world with an unveiling at MWC 2013 later this month.

We don’t think this will be the case as the company now has separate events for its flagship smartphones, and if a new Note was released so soon after the last model Samsung would upset many of its customers.

What do you want to see on the Galaxy Note 3?

If it’s with a 6.3″ screen, the bezel would have to be minimal. If I had a say in the design, I would get rid of the bezel entirely. Accidental palm presses could be avoided via software tweaks. Touchless gestures would be a handy addition also.
More premium build quality would be great, but not if it increases the price significantly. For example, the first preorder prices that I have seen on Sony Xperia Z are ridiculous.

I agree with the other comments…the reason I did not buy the Note 2 and stuck with the S3 was becasue it never came out in a 32gb or 64gb internal memory. I would like to see that in the new Note 3.

If the rumor of the screen size going up is true I don’t know if I will be interested in buying the next Note. I own a galaxy note 2 and holding it for long periods of time is uncomfortable as it is. I have pretty large hands and making it bigger will just ruin the experience. Contrary to everyone’s belief: bigger, in some things, is not better. I think its funny that people wait for the next big thing. 3 months after getting the note 3 your going to wish you had waited for a note 4 and so on. You will never be satisfied.

First off, Note series are released annually. Second thing, I also own a Note 2 and will not go back on anything smaller, once you mess around with the vast collection of software you cannot settle for anything less, yes, this even means the S4 will be insufficient for me regardless of whatever gimmicks are added. I can use the Note 2 until the note 4 comes out and it’ll still feel as fresh and new as it did when I started using it toward the end of 2012. It’s that good that I don’t need to consider any other phone for the next 18 months. Trust me, once you go with the Note, you cannot for the love of God go back to anything smaller, Note 3 @ 6.3 inches is a reasonable size for me and just about right. Flexible displays using Graphene (what Nokia is researching on and what Sammy is also looking into) are the next big thing, literally, so stretching that sucker to to a tablet sized screen will be doable within the next decade. Big screens are here to stay, whether folks like it or not.

I would love to see it have a fold up screen…so size would work better as it would be smaller to carry and large to view….if it’s actually OLED it would easily be bendable!

  5. Would love to get my hand on the Note 3. 6.3 inches flexible display (I don’t need a case or screen protection since the flexible display is unbreakable and unscratchable (maybe)), Exynos 5 Octa, improved camera/camcorder, improved s-pen, my dream come true.

I know that I would really want to have the phone a solid 6.3′! I have an old Droid X, and I am so ready for a new phone. Now the rumor is 5.9…I don’t want the 5.9. I agree and I wish that the phone was not so plastic, but somewhat like the iphone, but without adding to the price! It’s going to be expensive as it is, so do what you can to make it look and feel not so platicy! That would be awesome! What bout the Kevlar like the Moto Droid phones are. And I am hoping that Samsung gets RID of the “Home” key! And then for sure you can make it a monster awesome 6.3′ WHOA! Get rid of that home key! Yuk!
And hurry with the launch! I cant wait! Make it late August/Sept. Do what you do best Samsung! And make it a 6.3 and make everyone happy! Besides I carry a handbag! I don’t put my phone in my pocket! SO YES! I want the 6.3 for sure! SAMSUNG! YOU RULE!! HELEN
