Next month will see the annual Google I/O event taking place where we could see some new hardware as well as the company’s plans going forward for its mobile operating system, and today we have the Motorola X Nexus 5 smartphone visualized in a video.

Most recently there has been talk that there will be no unveiling of the Nexus 5 at Google I/O, but instead we could see a revamped version of the Nexus 4 with extra storage and LTE compatibility, and that Key Lime Pie may be delayed by the Google to give manufacturers more breathing space.

This hasn’t stopped designer Bob Freking coming up with the image and video you can see on this page of the Motorola X Phone that could be the next Nexus smartphone. The specifications of the concept idea are going along with the numerous leaks that have emerged in the last few months.

The screen is a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a quad core processor running at a clock speed of 1.8GHz and paired with a massive 4GB of RAM. If you are worried that all that power under the hood would be at the expense of battery life there is a massive 5,000 mAh unit fitted.

This handset would be made from a scratchproof stainless steel body, while on the rear of the device is a 9-megapixel camera fitted with an 18-55mm lens. The designer has also supplied the pricing for the handset that starts at $299 for the 8GB model going up to $399 for 32GB of on board storage, which as you would expect is for an unlocked smartphone.

The video kicks off explaining that Motorola were once at the top of the smartphone tree only for other companies coming along to steal their thunder, and now is the time for Google to bring the glory days back to the company.
