#

Regular readers of Phones Review may remember that a few days ago we brought news of the Huawei Ascend P2 release in the UK. We told how this impressive smartphone would be available from next month and told how UK operator Three would be carrying the phone. We have now heard that the Ascend P2 will also be available from Phones 4U and that the retailer will have exclusivity of the white colour option.

Huawei has now made an official announcement about the UK launch of the Ascend P2, which is the highest profile phone that the company has released so far in the UK. This smartphone has a slim 8.4mm form factor and 4.7-inch LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass that can also be operated when the user has gloves on and Huawei believes that the phone “offers exceptional design, power and functionality.”

For now the Huawei Ascend P2 can be used on various network speeds and has built-in Category 4 LTE support so that when your operator has a 4G network you can also take advantage of that. Other specs of the phone include a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 2420 mAh battery plus the added addition of Huawei’s power-saving technology such as Quick Power Control and Automated Discontinuous Reception.

There’s also a 13-megapixel BSI rear camera with HDR and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera while a dedicated camera key allows instant access to picture taking. The phone runs the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system with Huawei’s Emotion user interface. It will be available in black or white although as previously stated Phones 4u will be the only UK retailer to offer the white version. The precise release date has yet to be announced, along with pricing.
