We have seen a number of videos featuring the HTC One vs. Samsung Galaxy S4 under different tests, although a new video landing on YouTube within the last couple of days attempts to showcase the performance of both Android phones in low light conditions.

The video hasn’t been viewed by a lot of people just yet, but the feedback so far is pretty positive. There’s been some diverse opinion about the sound and video results within this quick review, which viewers seem split on the better handset in these conditions.

In the video, embedded below this article, it takes a look at low light conditions and records while driving. One YouTube viewer points to the HTC One sound being “more natural” and this was more noticeable when the lights were on, although those that support Samsung’s Galaxy S4 point to the video review revealing not only better sound, but also a much brighter experience.

Brighter does not mean better. Exposure compensation on S4’s photo and video is too high. HTC One looks darker, but colors look much more natural, especially if you look at the sky.

The differing opinions on this demonstrates the subjectivity of the user and the takeaway is…use whatever phone works best for you. Thank you for providing samples so that people could make their own decision. 🙂

I pick the One because while the audio could be a little better, you can actually easily tell the headlights are on and it’s just overall more accurate to “the sun just coming up”. The Samsung looks too artificially bright and it’s stabilization isn’t as good, plus, the One has a wider picture. The audio on the S4 is louder, but I feel the One singles out the voice a little better, even if it is a bit quiter and almost muffled sounding.
