There are plenty of impressive devices around right now and two of them are the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Nokia Lumia 928. These two smartphones run different operating systems but those who don’t mind which OS they use may be undecided between the two. The Galaxy S4 is available in regions worldwide on various carriers including Verizon in the US while the Lumia 928 is a Verizon phone based on the internationally available Lumia 920. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has either a 1.6GHz Exynos Octa-core processor or a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, dependent on region. It has a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 2GB or RAM and either 16, 32 or 64GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD. It also has a 13-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing shooter, 4G LTE support (where applicable) and 2600 mAh battery and runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
On the other hand the Nokia Lumia 928 has a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor, a 4.5-inch AMOLED display with resolution of 1280 x 768, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (non-expandable). It also has an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, LTE support where applicable and a 2000 mAh battery. The Lumia 928 runs the Windows Phone 8 operating system.
At a first glance of the specs it’s pretty easy to see that the Galaxy S4 has the upper hand. However, it’s not all about the specs and the phones also have varying features to consider. Although we’d still have to say the features of the Galaxy S4 are far superior the PureView camera of the Lumia 928 is a bonus. The price factor is something you may also want to take into account as befitting its specs the Lumia phone is much cheaper. The Galaxy S4 is priced at $199 on a two-year contract with Verizon and the carrier is selling the Lumia 928 for only half of that price, at $99.

What a nonsense !?!
The Lumia 928 is technically better than the S4.
This is of cource because of the faster and less demanding operating system.
A lumia with dualcore processor runs faster and smoother than an android phone with quad core processor. So it is not about the specs.
And the Lumai camera is not just a bonus…
It shows again, that the number is not nothing.
While S4 has a 13 megapix camera and Lumia 928 a 8,7 mpix camera, there is no doubt and no test on the internet, that would claim the S4 camera would be better.
You forgot Nokia clearback – the Lumia is much better to read while the sun is shinning. Much better. Lumia screen is 20% than S4 screem.
You forgot – Lumia has a high quility case. The galaxy series is reknown for the extremely low quality of their chasing.
The Lumia camera is simply years ahead of anything Samsung can offer.
And you forgot:
– Lumia – you get Microsoft Office free (S4 – there is no proffesionnal office suit)
– Lumia you get here maps (android – no, only online maps – expensive data transfer)
– android – you get 95%+ of the viruses that exist for mobiles (Windows 8 ?? hardly any viruses known)
All in alll…

Features in S4 like air gesture and hover-what are useless or unecessary. You can easy swipe and zoom with your fingers, why you need all those childlike features. What is important in phone is build quality and camera because you bring it with you everyday and like to take shots even in the dark. Android is like a childplay messed-up UI with all those chaotic widgets aka old MySpace. In Windows phone, you get things done much faster.
S4’s features are useless. What does lumia have? atleast it has features! i but agree they are useless lol
Lumia build quality for the win. Galaxy S4 looks like a toy.
Lumias are starting to look dated now, the interface also is becoming stale, same grid of squares for 3 years almost.

really? you prefer the static dump icons that are full of useless graphics. can you resize your icons? can your icons show live data, update, current info like weather, cnn, facebook updates. I think of android of a friends phone that is a hello kitty theme. I need some thing that is fast, easy to use. also what is with the OS names? ice cream sandwich with double caramel sauce. from a developer perspective, android is fractured, 100+ footprint, screen sizes and os combinations.

Android can resize icons, changes icon, changes theme, change wallpaper, change color, change battery wifi signal gps indicator,. change notification bar (at the op) which wp8 does not have. It has automatic clear app’s cache which WP8 cant even do it manually.
instead of live data android uses widgets (even more beautiful) that show current info like weather, cnn, facebook updates.
oh i forgot. in WP8 you have to go to settings to disable wifi bluetooth mobile network gps. pretty annoying.
now tell me what WP8 can do
first of all you should use nokia lumia than you should conclude anything….i have used samsung and nokia both handsets…and i want to conclude that nokia is better in many way….i was having galaxy s3 for playing games only but i am having lumia for business purposes…so android is just for playing but lumia can become your business partner….think of it man and chill…
iAndroid is NOT just for gaming bro. It has a lot more features than wp8 or the lumia.. we have to agree to that..
its all depend on how you use it. and yes i use it specially for gaming, for costumization, etc. i can overclock, can do stupid things that can break your phone, i can root easily for free(its called unlocking for windows phone)

Lumia is better than galaxy in one category and perhaps the most essential one – built quality.

Nokia Lumia 920 Perfect Phone And Samsung Galaxy s4 Has Been Not Perfect
Deciding between these two phones for the wife who is upgrading from a feature phone (finally convinced her). I use and prefer WP for enterprise and Office 2013 and she’s leaning that way but I cannot help but think the S4 might be better for her using things like Pinterest and other social media. A lot of the stuff for which there are no apps for WP can mostly be done through a browser or knock-off apps but the Galaxy does have way more apps, higher resolution and faster processing.
She likes to use Office and wants to do some banking which favors WP since Android = no Office and WP is more secure. The better solution might be for her to go with WP and get an Android tablet. She only plays stuff like Solitaire so gaming is not a concern and some of the extraneous features of the S4 don’t even move the needle for her. She’s savvy enough to know that more megapixels does not necessarily mean a better camera.
As it stands it’s 60/40 in favor of the Lumia.
