Sony Honami (Xperia i1) camera specs smaller than Nokia 1020

#

Sony have been busy in the last few months by first offering us the Xperia Z and then more recently following that up with the phablet sized Xperia Z Ultra. The company doesn’t seem to be resting on its laurels though but the Sony Honami (Xperia i1) specs reveal a camera sensor smaller than the Nokia 1020.

Previously it was rumoured that the Sony Honami that is now known as the Xperia i1, was going to have camera specifications that would blow the competition away, and that seems to be the case as long as you don’t compare it with the recently announced Nokia Lumia 1020.

According to the Taiwanese website ePrice the Sony Xperia i1 will feature a 5-inch Full HD display that will have the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor under the hood clocked at 2.2GHz. This will be paired with 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of expandable memory via microSD card.

Besides that 20.7-megapixel rear facing camera it will also have a 2-megapixel Exmor R front facer, and providing that all important power is allegedly a 3,000 mAh battery. Of course it is dust and waterproof with the handset measuring 144mm x 73.9mm x 8.3mm.

It is thought that the Sony Xperia i1 will be unveiled at the IFA 2013 event taking place in September, and in a way the device just seems like the Sony Xperia Z but with a better camera and processor, but the device will certainly give the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and Nokia Lumia 1020 something to think about in the coming months.
