Nexus 4, 7 Android 4.3 update confusion

#

There seems to be a little confusion over the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. Only yesterday we confirmed that the latest software was rolling out to Nexus devices, but it seems like some consumers and technology blogs are getting confused with what a roll out means.

Taking a quick look at Facebook and Google Plus, you can see a number of blog posts from well-known Android news websites reporting the Android 4.3 OTA update is already available for Wi-Fi Nexus 7 and Nexus 4. This has been met with a few confused comments and some people claiming certain blogs are losing credibility making force claims.

It is true there’s a number of ways to download the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 Android 4.3 update directly, but it is the over-the-air updates some people are getting confused about. One of our readers stated, “Just tried for both my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 WiFi, nothing”. Another added when some people claimed it’s live, “lots of Android forums keep stating it is live OTA, they are losing credibility”.

The feedback we have received from Phones Review readers is clear, and the Android 4.3 update is not available OTA on the Nexus 4 and WiFi Nexus 7 at the time of writing. If this has changed since the time of publish, please let us know in the comments.

Do you own the Nexus 4 or 7, and if so is the Android 4.3 update live for you OTA?

I have a Nexus 4, i’m located in Oregon, USA and I don’t have the push to my phone yet. Though my update section of my phone is getting a lot of loving. I don’t have a phone carrier at the moment either, I bought the phone last week and it came with 4.2.2. Looking forward to 4.3 and hopefully later this year 5.0.

du masses, the masses au contraire… I have the ota, I’m sorry your ‘region’ wasn’t stimulated as readily as mine. ignorance is bliss… if you chaps represent the Nexus community, I suspect I’ll seek more civilized company. extremely rude peasants…

As in, the update has arrived for me when hitting the check now button.
Also I am not the only one, there are dozens reporting the same at AndroidCentral’s article,

“Android 4.3 for the Nexus 4 rolling out everywhere,”
        So expect it shortly.

I am England and my Nexus 7 has not had the update. My partner at the same address got his last night. My friend in Wales has a Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, all of which have received their updates yesterday.

Just got an update for Nexus 4 by stopping and cleaning Google Services Framework
Don`t forget to turn on WiFi before you going to check for an update.

    Got mine yesterday…..
    Clear data google service framework
Force stop it(OK to the warning)
    Check update
It might take a couple tries to force the ota update
Nexus 7 Wi-Fi. Works with nexus 4 too
Not responsible for any damage to the device though should work

my friend’s nexus 4 received the update 3 days ago and updated yesterday. I bought the phone 6 months earlier but no updates yet while hers is only 2 months old. If the rollout is based on IMEI then I should received earlier ??
