Samsung beats Apple in US for customer satisfaction

#

Samsung and Apple have been at war for ages now in various court cases around the world, and the companies are also fierce rivals in the smartphone world, but we now have news that Samsung beats Apple in the US for customer satisfaction for some of its older handsets.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 came out on top in terms of customer satisfaction according to new findings from the American Customer Satisfaction Index. Going on a scale of 0 to 100 the Galaxy S3 got a score of 84 along with the Galaxy Note 2, which compares to the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S that received 82.

This compares to the iPhone 4 that scored 81 in the survey that took place back in March which was before the Samsung Galaxy S4 was released. This survey found that Samsung was preferred in Apple’s homeland where another study in South Korea that used the same methods saw the iPhone 5 come out on top.

It is felt that the larger display sizes that Samsung has been using were partly down to the higher scores the company has been getting, with the Galaxy S3 getting a much higher score than the previous model the Galaxy S2.

ACSI Director David VanAmburg states that it seemed the Galaxy S3 was more of “game-changer for Samsung in a way the iPhone 5 wasn’t for Apple”, as the device got the same score as the iPhone 4S.

Recently Apple has been concentrating on ads that focus on the customer experience of the iPhone instead of the handsets specifications, while the likes of the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX achieved a score of 80, and the Droid RAZR scored 77.

Are you surprised by these results?
