Nexus 5 worries after Moto X release
Two days ago Motorola announced its new Moto X Android smartphone, which has had mixed reactions over the price for the specifications that comes with it. Some say it is too expensive with some saying if you take the pricing out of the equation it seems to be a nice looking decently featured smartphone. So what is happening with the Nexus 5 now?
The Nexus 4 was such a success outselling across the board, even the Google Play Store sold out in no time at all, but consumers are now waiting for the Nexus 5 to be announced. This is where we move onto the Nexus 5 worries after Moto X release, Google has its hands in deep with the new Moto X and they have been supervising the smartphone that is the first to be fully assembled in USA.
Does this mean the Nexus 5 will be put on the back burner now for a while until the Moto X has made its stamp with sales, or does it mean no Nexus 5 will ever release? Many readers are asking this question.

We are hoping Google still releases the Nexus 5, which we believe will be by LG, the Nexus 7 2 has the Asus name on board just like they did on the first Nexus 7, so it stands to reason LG will be on the Nexus 5. We have to agree with a few of our readers who are a little worried about the Nexus 5 release, if Google do decide to unveil it we cannot see it being anytime soon.
Why would Google want to release the Nexus 5 so close to the Motorola Moto X, it would not make any sense at all. Some of the rumored Nexus 5 specs are all over the place at the moment, but some say it could come featuring a 5 to 5.2-inch Full HD screen display, 3300 mAh battery even though we have seen a few times it saying 2700, 13 MP rear camera, 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor with 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, Android 4.3 even though by the time it releases we might and Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie by then, 16/32/64GB storage options, 4G/LTE connectivity, all of these are just rumors please remember that.

There will be a Nexus 5 because Google is following another philosophy with the Moto X. Do you really think Google only has the capacity to create one phone line? What I think is funny is that the people that complain about the price are probably the first ones freaking out over the working conditions in Chinese assembly factories. “The conditions are so bad but I’m sure my phone was assembled by a happy worker who is doing that job out of passion”

Plus the moto x doesn’t have a sd card slot and second LG already said they weren’t making a second one. I swear who writes these articles, you guys need somebody that actually knows what they are talking about. I swear a bunch of noobs

Exactly. They clarified the misquote but could not go further and officially confirm they are making the Nexus 5. That’s not for them to do, it’s for Google to do. Last year, Google would not confirm or deny the Nexus 4 or who was making it until October. Then it was released in November. Same this year.
All LG could do in correcting the mistranslation is convey they are NOT not making the Nexus 5. 🙂 But they aren’t allowed to say they are making the Nexus 5 — officially. But LG sources have leaked info to South Korean newspaper Daum, including specs.

LG is making the Nexus 5. It will be announced in October, released in November with Key Lime Pie 5.0. Nothing has changed because of the Moto X. Either you guys are totally ignorant or just pretending to be for click bait articles.

Copy and paste that word string into your browser. LG sources have consistently leaked to South Korea newspaper Daum progress on the Nexus 5 and fraternal twin LG G2 all year long. In May, LG CEO showed prototype of Nexus 5 when Google CEO Larry Page visited. More recently in July, G2 specs leaked with additional confirmation Nexus 5 is developed alongside and will share almost identical specs (except for expandable storage).
Get some facts right. The Moto X DOES NOT have an SD card slot. Just 16gb or 32gb on board storage and that’s it. Also the Nexus 5 has already been confirmed for a fall release.

Although I cannot confirm a phone specifically, another nexus phone is coming. At Google IO Larry Page spoke and answered questions. In this, he stated that the nexus project is continuing and that the low prices would continue to be a central effort of the developer platform. We have to remember that Google never made any price guarantees with the moto x. They also cannot compete too heavily against their partners. Also, LG confirmed that they would be open to building the next nexus. The original misquote has been repeated soo many times and it only gets more irritating the more it happens.

The Moto X is a US only product and will not be made available in Europe or elsewhere. The Nexus range, on the other hand, is a global product range and will be available worldwide. Unless Google decide to give up on the global market and just focus on the US market (which I think is very unlikely) there should almost certainly be a Nexus follow on handset, probably in the September / October pre Christmas time frame. No idea what the specs will be but I would definitely expect a Nexus 5 handset.
This is exactly what I was about to post. I don’t see any reason why they would drop the Nexus line at this point.
Nothing is confirmed about the nexus 5 and the next nexus phone may not even be called the nexus 5. Give me irrefutable proof. You cant, cause when Lg or anyone is asked, there has never been a “yes, we are making the nexus 5”. Therefore those specs you’ve given us are : alleged. A nexus may be coming, but don’t get your hopes up on a holiday release date. And I dont want to hear “the come out around the same time every year”….they dont always I.e. nexus 7
The Nexus 7 and and Nexus 4 are two entirely different product lines (tablet and phone, respectively). The Nexus phone series has debuted in the fall for at least the last 3 years (not sure when the first HTC Nexus came out).
The Nexus 7 was released June/July of 2012 and the latest Nexus 7 Tablet was released July 2013.
So there does appear to be a 1 year product schedule.

The next Nexus phone is not due until November. Moto X will be ancient history by then.
Google and Motorola operate as separate companies. The Moto X release has no bearing on the Nexus release. Nothing has been confirmed about a Nexus 5, but to assume that no confirmation is a good enough reason to question if a nexus 5 will be released is just as insane as believing all of the fake specs and renders floating around.
The Nexus 4 still has great specs. Just release a verizon variant!
