Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update confirmed for some
The recent announcement of yet another version of the Android operating system has muddied the waters a little with many wondering if their handset would jump straight to the later version. Now it seems that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update has been confirmed for some users.
We reported before that there were rumours that both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 would bypass the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update and go straight to 4.3, and now for German users at least this seems to be the case.
Examples of the handset that are sold by German carrier Deutsche Telekom will be jumping past Android 4.2.2 and straight to 4.3, and was confirmed by the carrier. A user was communicating with the carrier via the official Telekom forum and a support worker confirmed that the GT-i9300 version of the handset is going straight to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Unfortunately no release date for the new firmware was given but previously there has been talk that Samsung had a number of teams already working on the new software. Hopefully users won’t have to wait too much longer as the device along with the Note 2 has been sitting on Android 4.1.2 for a number of months now in some markets.
We have already seen the software rollout to a number of Nexus devices as well as the Google Play edition smartphones, so you would have thought other handsets will follow shortly.

Samsung doesn’t value their customers. If they had to make us wait so much , why the hell do they have to manufacture such high end phones if they can’t support it with updates…
Screw you samsung…an update to 4.3 means waiting till the galaxy s4 gets the update after thr launch of the note 3 on sept 4 in berlin…coz note 3 will come with 4.3 out of the box…then only s4 gets it followed by note 2 and s3 and that means waiting till oct end or nov first week….fuckers….I swear I will never ever buy a samsung phone ever…its htc or nexus for me next time !
If we had to wait so much, y the hell didn’t they provide us 4.2.2 and make us wait till dec or jan for 4.3 . Skipping an update for older flagships really is a pissing move by samsung…I have only two words for you. ..f*** u !
Boy, do you have a lot to learn about updates. First, its the carrier that will ultimately have the final say when the update is released for your particular carriers S3. Secondly, international phones are usually updated quickly from the manufacturer but not in the US. Samsung can release the update but till your particular carrier modifies the update to be functional with their system, it will not be released. Thirdly, I love my S3 but if you are that upset with your phone that you chose, then trade it in or dump it and get an Iphone. I am sure you will be happy with their updates. Lastly, just because you dont wish to buy the newest, latest, greatest Galaxy phone, dont blame the manufacturer for you being cheap. 3 words for you…Suck It Up!
Samsung updating to 4.3 doesn’t mean anything… It’s the carriers who slow or choose not to update the devices…
So will Samsung do it? Probably. Will your carrier do it? Probably not.
