Motorola Droid Ultra video review praise

#

The Motorola Droid Ultra smartphone has just seen a release on Verizon and is attracting a lot of attention, along with the Droid Maxx. Droid phones on Verizon always prove pretty popular and the Droid Ultra appears to be a very decent new offering from Motorola, now owned by Google. Today we have two comprehensive Motorola Droid Ultra video reviews to show you that both have some praise for the device.

The Droid Ultra is available at a price of $199.99 on a two-year contract from Verizon or alternatively if you want it unlocked then the outright price is $599.99. Specs include a 1.7GH dual-core processor, 5-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It also has a 10-megapixel rear camera and 2130 mAh battery, and it uses the Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean system.

If the Droid Ultra appeals to you then you may also be interested in the Droid Maxx that is $100 more expensive. The specs are much the same as the Droid Ultra but internal storage is increased to 32GB, and it has a larger battery capacity of 3500 mAh. We have two reviews for you about the Droid Ultra, but one is in two parts so in fact we have embedded three YouTube videos below this story for your viewing pleasure.

The first review is the two-parter, and both videos total approximately 22-minutes. The first part begins by running through the specs of the Motorola Droid Ultra and then takes a look at the hardware, giving a good idea of the design of the device. It then goes over the Active Notifications feature of the phone that should prove popular with plenty of users, and other features such as Touchless Control.

The second part of this video review looks more at the software for the Droid Ultra and notes the zippy performance of the phone. The reviewer is also impressed with the battery life but bemoans the lack of a physical battery percentage indicator. The review also looks at the camera capabilities, where it’s felt the camera could use a little more work, but overall there’s a lot of admiration for the Droid Ultra.

The other video review below is also pretty lengthy at 22-minutes and also looks at the design, hardware and software. It looks at the Chrome browser and includes a speed test, while the call quality receives a lot of approval. We won’t go into too much more detail as you can check out the video review for yourself, but overall there’s a lot of positivity for the Motorola Droid Ultra. However it’s noted that the Droid Ultra will face a lot of competition from phones such as the HTC One, LG G2, Samsung Galaxy S4 and Motorola Moto X.

These videos give a thorough look at the Motorola Droid Ultra and if you’re thinking of purchasing a new phone on Verizon, we’d urge you to check them out. We’d appreciate it if you would let us have your comments on the Motorola Droid Ultra and these reviews. Do they make you want to get your hands on the Ultra as your next smartphone purchase?
